Marineland of the Pacific, CA - page 1
Portuguese Bend, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA
1954 to 1987

Marineland of the Pacific on the Palos Verdes Peninsula near Point San Vicente in the Portuguese Bend area, between Redondo Beach and San Pedro in Southern California, opened in August 1954 and closed in 1987. The following old postcards and brochures of Marineland of the Pacific provide a great visual look back at Marineland.

Marineland featured whales, porpoises, seals, dolphins, sea lions, and fish.

"In the Oceanarium at Marineland of the Pacific, thousands of fish and sea animals live in two huge 22-foot deep tanks which have viewing windows at three levels below the water's surface. Ramps connect each level and lead to the Amphitheatre on top, where visitors watch the playful porpoises."
